Life can sometimes be hard. So hard that i’m sure the thoughts, “what the hell is the reason for this?” or “Why is this happening to me?” have definitely crossed your mind at some point.
Well, life will always bring challenges, it will test you in ways you didn’t know you could be tested. Some of us will be able to take these challenges on the chin and keep going focussing on the positives. The reality though is most of us will get completely caught up on the negative.
TIME TO CHANGE
What’s exciting is that gratitude can be practised, you can learn it and the affects of this change can be life changing. So here are the 5 top reasons why we should practise gratitude.
1.GRATITUDE IMPROVES YOUR WELL BEING
Gratitude is linked to being more positive. Being more positive is linked to improved immune systems. Gratitude is shown to improve happiness by up to 25%. Looking at the long haul, practising gratitude can lower levels of depression, anxiety and bounce back much faster if you’re going through a traumatic experience.
2. GRATITUDE HELPS YOU SLEEP BETTER
Gratitude is shown to help people fall asleep faster & give you a better quality of sleep. It is shown that people who take 15 minutes before they go to bed writing down what they’re grateful for were able to fall asleep faster than those who didn’t. It’s also shown that they stayed a sleep for longer.
3. GRATITUDE HELPS YOU BECOME MORE SUCCESSFUL
Making gratitude your habit can make increase your energy levels and determination, motivation and enthusiasm over time. These qualities are linked to performing better in the workplace.

I guess it’s quite logical really. Being grateful daily makes you realise how many great things you have around you in life to be grateful for. Practising gratitude enables you to focus on the good not just focus on the challenges, faults and things that disappoint you. Being more grateful makes you feel more successful and more confident in your own abilities.
5. GRATITUDE MAKES YOUR RELATIONSHIPS STRONGER
There are many studies that have proven that people who are more grateful are more sociable, open and agreeable. You will attract to you more happier, positive people and having those qualities will make you more likely to help others with their issues.
Gratitude can have a profound difference on your daily life, your state of mind and your self confidence as well as your health. This is not a gimmick, not something that’s just on trend right now. It’s researched and proven. Ask yourself, what could possibly be the downside of being more grateful? If you find even one answer to that question I’d be surprised.
